Study of a multiplex PCR based CFTR assay

The study will run in parallel to the regular CF EQA scheme. The samples will be sent in September 2010 and the deadline for submitting the results is November 30, 2010.

We would like to invite you to participate in a validation study of a multiplex PCR based CFTR assay as front-end amplification method for next generation sequencing applications. This assay is developed by Multiplicon and named CFTR MASTR. More details are available via http://multiplicon.com/products/cftr-mastr.

Multiplicon will provide the necessary MASTR assay reaction kits to amplify three blind samples, provided by the CF Network. For logistical reasons we will share your contact details with Multiplicon.

Conditions of participation:

• The participation in this study is free, but limited to a maximum of 20 participants.
• The assay is developed to work with the next generation sequencing technology and therefore only laboratories that have access to this technology are able to participate.
• Only laboratories that are registered for the regular CF EQA scheme of 2010 are accepted to participate in the additional scheme.

We will inform you after August 20, if your laboratory is selected for the study.
