Assessment

Who is assessing the written reports and genotypes?

All reports are evaluated by at least two assessors during the assessment period from January till the end of February. At the end of February all assessors meet and discuss together the final score and comments for each participant. The assessors decide at that moment who will receive a certificate of successful participation.

How shall I proceed if I do not agree with the comments and/or score I received after the assessment?

The CF Network allows people to react on the score and/or comments they received. All appeals should be sent via e-mail to before the end of June.

The CF Network will collect all appeals and they will be discussed by the assessors. Answers will be given to the laboratories after July 1, and then the marks become final.

Where can I find the results of a certain CF EQA cycle?

All laboratories that participated in a certain EQA cycle will be able to see the genotype results, general letter, individual comments and score online after logging in.

Which evaluation documents will I receive from the CF Network after the assessment?

An e-mail will be sent to all the active contact persons of the laboratory to inform that the following documents are available online:

  • a general letter including the general expected results
  • individual comments for the laboratory
  • an excel table including the scores for each item assessed by the CF Network
  • a letter of participation

A certificate will be sent by post to the laboratories that participated successfully in the scheme.

When will I receive a certificate of successful participation?

Certificates of successful participation are given to laboratories that sent written reports, including correct genotype data and no serious interpretation nor risk calculation errors. The genotype and interpretation score is printed on the certificate. The certificates are sent by regular post at the end of the EQA cycle.

When will I receive a letter of participation?

Each laboratory that submitted at least genotype results will able to download a letter of participation from the website at the end of the EQA cycle. This letter does not confirm that the participation was successful.

What is a letter of poor performance?

Laboratories that did not receive a certificate in the current year and at least once in the two previous years will receive an additional letter inviting them to contact the assessors to discuss their results and ways to improve their performance.
