CF Network is required to issue invoices in relation to the services and goods it supplies. The invoices issued should contain the VAT registration number of the service/good provider and customer. A VAT registration number is alphanumeric and consists of up to 15 characters. The first two letters indicate the respective member state, for example BE for Belgium. All vendors who are entitled to deduct input VAT can receive a VAT registration number from their local tax authority.
More information on the VAT regulation can be found at: http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/taxation/vat/how_vat_works/index_en.htm
VAT = TVA = BTW = MwSt = IVA = Ust = DPH = moms …

In practice, this means that the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven will not charge Belgian VAT on her delivery of services when you are liable to VAT (in case you are established in another member state of the European Union) or liable to a similar taxation (when you are established outside the European Union). In case (only for European Union customers) the kind of services delivered by the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven) is free of VAT in your country, you should inform us. It also means that the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven will charge Belgian VAT on her invoices for services delivered to customers who are not liable to VAT (European Union) or a similar taxation (non European Union) unless the kind of services delivered is free of VAT according the Belgian law.
The CF Network generates an electronic invoice upon receipt of the registration form. The invoice is sent to the e-mail addresses of all active contact persons of a laboratory account. In addition, this invoice is attached to the EQA participant’s area. If a laboratory wishes to receive a copy of the invoice by postal mail, they should indicate this in the registration form.

The CF Network manually indicates if the registration fee of a laboratory was received. Once this is indicated, the laboratory is able to see his payment status in its EQA participant’s area, when logged in.
